[edit]| Description | English: 2018年10月20日，新中国历史上第一所由社会力量举办、国家重点支持的新型研究型大学——西湖大学正式成立，施一公成为首任校长。 施一公是海归知识分子的杰出代表。2003年，施一公获得美国普林斯顿大学分子终身教职，2008年，他全职回到母校清华工作。他曾说，“我发自内心地想为中国科技和教育体制进一步发展付出更多。” 2018年1月，施一公辞去清华大学副校长职务，全力以赴筹办西湖大学。他希望，西湖大学能够成为中国高等教育改革的探索者、拔尖创新人才培养的摇篮和世界前沿科学技术的引领者。 |
