| Description | Teams associated with NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) Program conducted a hot fire test of the first SLS core stage on March 18, 2021, on the B-2 Test Stand at Stennis Space Center. All four RS-25 engines were fired for a full-duration test, just as during an actual launch. This video reel provides footage from the hot fire, including views from drone and on-stand cameras. The March 18 hot fire culminated a yearlong series of tests on the rocket stage and its integrated systems prior the stage’s launch on the Artemis I mission. Preliminary inspections show the core stage and its four RS-25 engines are in excellent condition following the hot fire test. In anticipation of increased temperature associated with an in-stand test, teams applied extra cork and tape in specific areas.
