Summary

Description A documentary presentation of daily life at a progressive, rural summer camp for children in England, showing them exploring their world and participating in such activities as hammering, building, painting, wading, and working out disagreements with one another. The film was made during World War II, as many British children were being evacuated to the countryside to protect them from German bombing.The title is taken from a poem by Walt Whitman poem about childhood.
