Summary

Description The action of the heart, the ventricles and auricles is pointed out on a live, beating mammalian heart. This heart is shown on the operating field surrounded by drapes, gloved hands, clamps, and retractors. A gloved hand holds and manipulates the beating heart and the surrounding tissue. The superior and inferior venae cavae, pulmonary artery, and conus arteriosus are also shown. Received: Dec. 2, 1955 as a donation from Jacob Sarnoff, M.D.
