Summary
| Description | During April 19-21, NASA completed work to remove the Space Launch System core stage from the B-2 Test Stand at Stennis Space Center near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, and load the stage into the agency’s Pegasus barge. The stage then departed from Stennis for transport to Kennedy Space Center in preparation for its launch on the Artemis I mission. Removal and departure activities followed completion of a series of Green Run test of the stage and its integrated systems, culminating in a hot fire of the four RS-25 engines that help power SLS at launch. NASA is building SLS as the backbone of its human exploration program, including the Artemis program that will land the first woman and the first person of color on the Moon and establish sustainable exploration in preparation for missions to Mars. |
