Summary
| Description | The film shows a patient lying on his back in preparation for a bone marrow aspiration. Antiseptic is used to swab the sternum. The patient is draped. A local anesthetic is applied to the area. An incision is made with a scalpel. The syringe is inserted and .2 to .3 ml of marrow is withdrawn. Smears are rapidly prepared before the marrow clots.
