Summary
| Description | Courtship of northern crested newt (Triturus cristatus), also known as the great crested newt or warty newt. Filmed in Dover, Kent, United Kingdom. Original description: Saw lots of great crested newts today after a poor days rockpooling at Dover (not quite as clear as Cornwall!) I placed the camera in the water and left it and to my surprise the newts came right up to it to investigate and seemed completely unphased by it even caught courtship behaviour which to my knowledge is a first filmed in the wild underwater! (All under license from the reserve otherwise you can be in breach of the 1981 wildlife & countryside act) In this video, the audio has been removed from the original material and it has been stabilised. |
