Summary

Description Newly released video shows the moment Orlando police officers were forced to open fire on a carjacking suspect. On a late January afternoon police pursued a car onto South Street near downtown Orlando. Police said the car they were chasing had been stolen during a carjacking just moments before by suspects who implied they had a gun.
The car veered into a parking lot where police appeared to have it cornered, but the driver repeatedly backed into their cruisers. A nearby security camera shows the stolen car narrowly miss an officer. As the car pulls away, Orlando police officers Steve Farris, Justin Lay and Clarence Eide open fire.

One of three suspects in the car, Danielle Evans was shot in the shoulder. She is now in jail on charges of attempted murder of a police officer, carjacking and fleeing law enforcement causing injury.
