Summary
| Description | At this year's Democratic National Convention, one thing to look for: the outfits! U.S. political conventions are an opportunity for delegates to show up in their finest patriotic fashions as well as show off what each of their states is known for. One look around the arena and you'll see elaborate headpieces, American flag-themed suits, and one or more of the famous cheeseheads. Even some delegates donning red, white and blue nails. Some delegations wear matching shirts or jerseys or have themed outfits each day. Nebraska, for example, had matching mustard-colored shirts with state icons printed on them including Malcolm X, Chief Standing Bear, and Willa Cather. The 4,500 delegates at the DNC representing the 50 U.S. states, five territories, Democrats abroad and Washington, D.C. say their outfits are a display of their patriotism and values. This year's DNC is the first in-person convention in eight years, the last one was significantly downsized due to the coronavirus pandemic |
