Summary

Description (Critical) This program demonstrates a technique for implanting a percutaneous spinal cord stimulator to treat pain, both for screening and as a permanent implant. It is designed for experienced surgeons and includes some important fine details but omits others. It does not discuss the indications for and results of the therapy and complications. Due to these omissions, it should be used only by those who are already familiar with treatment of pain and selection of patients. The basics are shown accurately, but the technique will probably be modified by the user as he gains experience. This is the only audiovisual available which teaches this technique. It would be good as part of a seminar discussing the problem of pain control.
