Summary
The unpiloted Northrop Grumman CRS-17 Cygnus cargo craft launched February 19 on an Antares rocket from the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, beginning a two-day flight to the International Space Station. Dubbed the “SS Piers Sellers†for the late NASA astronaut for his contributions as a climate scientist and his assistance in assembling the International Space Station, Cygnus is filled with food, fuel, and supplies, and will be captured by the station’s robotic arm and installed to the nadir port of the Unity module of the space station on February 21.
