Summary

Description This is a brief presentation summarizing the results of a variety of studies on gastric functions. Results consist of the following: fasting resulted in an increased rate of emptying and acid secretion, which in turn resulted in a greater rate at which acid entered the duodenum. In addition, water with meals resulted in a more rapid return to fasting levels. Various graphs with data drawn from several studies are shown throughout the presentation. Credits: Andre Dubois.
