| Description | Hurricane Hilary, as seen by the mesoscale camera 1 on the GOES-18 satellite. Video composed using ffmpeg from images received from the satellite HRIT downlink at 1.6941 GHz using a 1-meter dish pointed at GOES-18 and demodulated using goestools and a Raspberry Pi. Mesoscale images are received on this downlink every 15 minutes and are in the public domain. This timelapse contains all daylight images captured by the camera from August 17, 12:37 UTC to August 18, 22:07 UTC. Author will upload later versions of this video periodically as more pictures are received. |
