Summary

Description A critical piece of hardware for NASA’s Space Launch System rocket has arrived at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Now undergoing processing inside the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), the launch vehicle stage adapter (LVSA) will connect the core stage of the rocket to the upper stage. It will remain inside the VAB until it’s time for stacking on the mobile launcher ahead of the Artemis I launch. Also, NASA astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley safely returned to Earth, splashing down in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida. This successful splashdown and recovery marked the end of NASA’s SpaceX Demo-2 mission, paving the way for NASA to certify SpaceX’s crew transportation system for regular, crewed flights to the International Space Station.
