Description SPACE STATION CREW MEMBER DISCUSSES SPACE-BASED RESEARCH WITH THE NIH Aboard the International Space Station, Expedition 64 Flight Engineer Kate Rubins of NASA discussed research aboard the orbital laboratory during an in-flight conversation March 26 with Dr. Francis Collins, the Director of the National Institutes of Health. Rubins, who is an epidemiologist by matriculation, has studied viruses during her two long duration missions on the station as well as conducting hundreds of additional experiments. She is headed for a return to Earth April 17 aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft to wrap up a 185-day mission.
