Summary
JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Kimiya Yui will serve as mission specialist for NASA’s SpaceX Crew-11 mission to the International Space Station. With 142 days in space, Crew-11 will be his second trip to the orbiting laboratory. He graduated from the School of Science and Engineering at the National Defense Academy of Japan in 1992 and was selected to become an astronaut in 2009. During his previous mission, he flew as a flight engineer for Expedition 44/45 and became the first Japanese astronaut to capture JAXA’s H-II Transfer Vehicle.
