| Description | Lucy Science Briefing with representatives from NASA, Southwest Research Institute, Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, and Arizona State University. Lucy, NASA’s first mission to explore the Trojan Asteroids, is set to launch on a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on Oct. 16. The launch is managed by NASA’s Launch Services Program based at Kennedy Space Center. The participants included Adriana Ocampo, Lucy program executive, NASA Headquarters; Cathy Olkin, Lucy deputy principal investigator, Southwest Research Institute; Keith Noll, Lucy project scientist, Goddard; Hal Weaver, principal investigator for Lucy’s L'LORRI instrument, Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory; Phil Christensen, principal investigator for Lucy’s L'TES instrument, Arizona State University; and Dennis Reuter, principal investigator for Lucy’s L’Ralph instrument, Goddard. |
