Summary

Description (Critical) This program reviews the technique of medullary nailing in the treatment of tibia fractures. Instrumentation, indications for use, conditions for nailing, and technique are demonstrated. Neither the results of this treatment nor the underlying principles of intramedullary nailing are discussed. Other treatment approaches to these fractures are not discussed. Although some steps are in common with other intramedullary nails, most are specific to this product. There are other more acceptable and often more preferred methods of managing these fractures. This program is recommended with reservations for use. Credits: Siegfried Weller, Frank Schauwecker.
