Summary

Description On May 30th, 2018 NASA descended upon the historic Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox Major League Baseball team, to participate in a STEM Day public engagement event. This collaborative effort was led by members of the Solar System Exploration Division at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center with the following participants: • Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), GSFC • Astromaterials Research & Exploration Science (ARES), JSC • Orion, JSC • Chandra X-Ray Center, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) • NASA Space Science Education Consortium/Heliophysics, SAO • CRaTER Instrument, University of New Hampshire • RIS4E, Stonybrook University Over 4000 students and teachers from across New England made the trip to see exhibits from the 7 different NASA missions and projects, demonstrations of space science concepts, and presentations from NASA scientists. Noah Petro, the Project Scientist from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Mission, led this endeavor, and astronaut Sunita
