Summary

Description On Friday, Feb. 2, Diana Trujillo participated in a pinning ceremony and conducted her first shift as a certified NASA flight director in NASA’s Mission Control Center in Houston, Texas. In her speech, she revealed her team name, or callsign, and described what it means to her. With Trujillo’s certification, each of the seven members of the 2022 class of flight directors are now qualified to serve. First selected in June of 2022, the class completed a comprehensive training program that included operational leadership and risk management, as well as the technical aspects of flight control and spacecraft systems. Today, these flight directors oversee teams of flight controllers maintaining the operation of the International Space Station, but one day could oversee Artemis missions to the Moon.
