Summary
Launching aboard the joint U.S.-European Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich satellite is NASA’s next instrument that will help improve weather forecasting. The GNSS-RO (Global Navigation Satellite System Radio Occultation) instrument will make it easier for meteorologists to forecast further into the future with more accuracy, and aid in the protection of life and property with earlier warnings. The Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich satellite will launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base no earlier than November 10, 2020.
