Summary
NASA airborne scientists talk about their findings from the Hurricane and Severe Storm Sentinel, or HS3 airborne campaign. Between 2012 and 2014, NASA used two Global Hawk aircraft deployed over the Atlantic Ocean to collect data inside, above, and around storms and hurricanes. They gathered data in the sky to determine humidity, winds, and air temperatures to help answer difficult questions about the formation and growth of severe weather patterns.
