Summary

Description (Producer) As the National Library of Medicine celebrates its 175th anniversary, it is time to look back at some of the less well-known moments in library history. This presentation will examine such issues as which of its three founding fathers had the best hat, key moments in NLM plumbing, a timeline of NLM moustaches, which director had the shortest tenure, and the continuing significance of red bricks in the growth of the library. Dr. Jeffrey Reznick, Chief of the History of Medicine Division, introduces presenter, Dr. Stephen Greenberg. Dr. Greenberg uses slides to illustrate his lecture. Transfer; Stephen J. Greenberg, Ph.D. ; 20111110; Acc# 2011-18.
