Summary

Description After launching earlier in the day in their Soyuz MS-13 spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, Expedition 60-61 Soyuz Commander Alexander Skvortsov of Roscosmos, NASA Flight Engineer Drew Morgan and Flight Engineer Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency arrived at the International Space Station July 20 to complete a six-hour journey, docking their vehicle to the aft port of the Zvezda Service Module on the Russian segment of the complex. A few hours after docking on the 50th anniversary of the first human landing on the moon by the Apollo 11 astronauts, Skvortsov, Morgan and Parmitano opened hatches and were greeted by station Commander Alexey Ovchinin of Roscosmos and Flight Engineers Nick Hague and Christina Koch of NASA. As the hatches were opened, the families of the newly arrived crewmembers and American, Russian and European space officials viewed the activities from Baikonur and offered their congratulations to the newest residents of the outpost.
