Summary
| Description | (Critical) This program concerns free mucosal grafts and their use in periodontics, oral surgery and restorative dentistry. Through drawings, slides and video, the procedure of gaining a zone of attached gingiva where none exists is depicted. Although some of the drawings are inadequately described, the material is accurate, well organized, and the objectives are achieved. However, part of the surgical technique, "the connective tissue bed", is not explained. The surgical procedures demonstrated are presently taught in dental schools, thus lending currency to the program. The program is to be recommended for use independently or as part of a structured program in dental education. Credits: R. L. Van Swol |
