Summary
Teams at NASA’s Stennis Space Center tested a new production RS-25 engine on Nov. 12, 2025, on the Fred Haise Test Stand in south Mississippi. The test of RS-25 engine #20002 had a duration of 500 seconds with a maximum 111% power level. Four RS-25 engines are used to help launch NASA’s SLS (Space Launch System) rocket on Artemis missions to return astronauts to the Moon in preparation for future human journeys to Mars.
