Summary

Description This video includes animation and shows work being completed to build, assemble and test NASA's new heavy-lift rocket, the Space Launch System (SLS) for the Artemis I mission to the Moon. All of the components being prepared for the first SLS mission are highlighted. SLS will be the most powerful rocket ever built, launching astronauts in NASA's Orion spacecraft on missions to the Moon, Mars and deep space. Two solid rocket boosters and four RS-25 engines will power the massive rocket, providing more than 8 million pounds of thrust. Production, outfitting testing are underway for the rocket's critical hardware. This video features the Artemis I core stage as it rolled out of NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility and was loaded into the B-2 test stand at Stennis Space Center where it is undergoing Green Run testing. Includes booster stacking at KSC in the VAB. Structural testing on the core stage was also completed at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center for both LOX and LH2 tanks. For more i
