Summary

Description (Critical) One of a series on the histology of muscle, this program presents the light and electron microscopic stucture of smooth muscle. Photomicrographs and color diagrams are well used to illustrate the tissue structure; but unfortunately, the dark pointer is sometimes indistinguishable aganist the dark background and structures of many of the photographs. As many as six times in this twelve minute program, the nucleus to cytoplasm ratio is mentioned. The distraction ofthis redundancy is exacerbated by inconsistent data, i.e., the ratio is referred to first as "small", then "high - large". Despite its shortcomings, this program is considered recommended as a useful adjunct to laboratory exercise of this subject. Credits: A. L. Chapman, M. P. Mohn.
