Summary
| Description | On Nov. 18 2021, Dec. 7, 2021, and Dec. 8, 2021, Kennedy Space Center's space crop production team tested different approaches to harvest and collect microgreens under microgravity conditions on three parabolic flights. This video highlights the experiences of the team, advancing the readiness level of this small, nutritious crop for space exploration. This work was conducted through funding from the NASA Flight Opportunities Program, NASA Kennedy’s Independent Research and Technology Development Program, and the NASA Biological and Physical Sciences Program. Zero Gravity Corporation (Zero-G) conducted the Parabolic Research Flights and provided a portion of the video included here. Dr. George Pantalos provided use of the flight glovebox and ground support. Kennedy Space Center researchers were Dr. Lucie Poulet, LaShelle Spencer, Lawrence Koss, Dr. Christina Johnson, Dr. Gioia Massa, and Jacob Torres. |
