Summary
| Description | This video shows the core stage final assembly area at Michoud Assembly Facility for NASA's new rocket, the Space Launch System (SLS). It illustrates how NASA and Boeing are assembling and integrating the five main structures that make up the core stage. The top of the rocket was assembled vertically and moved to this area with the core stages other parts: a liquid hydrogen tank and the engine section that will house the four RS-25 engines. On its first mission, SLS will send an uncrewed Orion spacecraft to the Moon on Exploration Mission-1. This mission supports returning humans to the Moon in 2024.
