Summary
| Description | Within the framework of a single case history study, this film identifies for boys and girls the major aspects of the common cold. Opening in a boy's bedroom, the first scene shows two boys about eleven years of age. Jim, who has a cold, sneezes at John. Since John is aware that colds can be spread through sneezes, he reprimands his friend. Jim does not believe that colds can be spread that way. We next see John two days later. He is beginning to feel the effects of a cold. His mother, Mrs Harrison, decides that she had better ask the family doctor to help convince John of the seriousness of a cold. After the doctor is very sure that the symptoms described by John's mother do not indicate a dangerous healthcondition, an appointment is made for John to come to the doctor's office. The film next depicts part of Dr. Chase's examination of John. After eliminating the possiblity of other diseases having symptoms like those of a common cold, the doctor concludes that John has a col |
