Summary

Description (Critical) This program compares psychiatric care in various cultures. Indigenous healing practices are contrasted to Western techniques; however, clear parallels between the cultural approaches to treatment are not drawn. Film clips of tribal doctors at work are incorporated in the production but the people are not identified as far as the tribe or nationality. The module lacks organization, the content is cursory and the technical quality is weak. While possibly of some documentary value, the program cannot be recommended for any specific educational purpose. Credits: Ari Kiev.
