| Description | NASA astronaut Don Pettit and Roscosmos cosmonauts Alexey Ovchinin and Ivan Vagner launched from Baikonur, Kazakhstan aboard the Soyuz MS-26 spacecraft 12:23 a.m. EDT Sept. 11 to their long-duration mission on the International Space Station. During his mission, Pettit will spend about six months in space living and working aboard the microgravity laboratory to advance scientific knowledge and demonstrate new technologies for future human and robotic exploration missions as part of NASA’s Moon and Mars exploration approach, including lunar missions through NASA’s Artemis program. |
