Speaker: Nassima Chahboun Abstract: Beyond photo documentation of historical monuments and cities, Wikimedia Commons can be creatively used in combination with Wikidata to produce other layers of information about built heritage. This lecture will present and explain two examples: Sound mapping of old cities and Emotional mapping of monuments. While Wikimedia Commons is currently used mainly for photo documentation of historical monuments and cities (Wiki Loves Monuments for instance), it is actually possible to use it in more creative ways, in combination with Wikidata, to extract other types of information about built heritage. This lecture will present these creative uses through two examples: - Sound mapping of historic cities in Morocco, as part of "Told Cities" project by Wiki World Heritage.
