Plan 9 from Outer Space is a 1957 science fiction/horror film written and directed by Ed Wood. It stars Gregory Walcott, Mona McKinnon, and Tor Johnson, with posthumous footage of Bela Lugosi.
Aliens enact “Plan 9” — a scheme to resurrect the recently dead as zombies in order to prevent humanity from developing a doomsday weapon that could destroy the universe. Considered one of the worst films ever made, it has gained a vast cult following and was popularised by the book The Golden Turkey Awards (1980). Its earnest ineptitude, visible strings on flying saucers, and cardboard sets have made it a beloved artefact of B-movie cinema.
