| Description | (Critical) Through a case description of the recipient of a bone marrow transplant this program discusses this procedure in the treatment of acute leukemia. The clinical conference, decision-making process, matching techniques, patient counseling, explantions to donor, and the procedure itself are detailed. Administration of chemotherapy, total body irradiation, and donation from a matched sibling brother of cellular components of bone marrow and peripheral blood are demonstrated. The indications of marrow transplantations, related immunological aspects, and the hazards of total body irradiation are only minimally discussed in the introduction.
