Description The global pandemic has amounted to a stress test of higher education, posing existential internal and external challenges to universities around the world. The internal challenge is about educating students, adapting rapidly to changing circumstances by deploying technology to offer high-quality instruction and conduct research in a number of different modalities. The external challenge revolves around a university’s broader responsibility to help its communities confront the pandemic and future problems. To meet these challenges, universities must be designed and redesigned for flexibility, inclusion, and accelerated innovation.
