Summary

Description Gas sampling and a spirometer for recording is displayed with control of respiration as suggested by Guedel. A patient is in prone position for pulmonary lobectomy. Second plane of anesthesia in 30 seconds time, then a monometer is substituted for the rebreathing bag to demonstrate the use of positive pressure and the spirometer for the measurement of tidal exchange. The anesthetist in this film is wearing glasses. Received: Feb. 17, 1989 as a donation from the Anesthesia History Association.
