Summary

Description (Critical) This program, one in a series on physiological and clinical aspects of cardiac auscultation covers the auscultation of ventricular septal defect. The physiology, pathology, anatomy and clinical findings are presented. The diagrams are excellent and the illustrations accompanying the heart sounds and depicting hemodynamic values are good. The discussion is not as detailed or thorough as it might be. The repetition of auscultatory features is effective. The program is recommended for use in conjunction with supplementary instructive material. Credits: Alan Harris, George Sutton, Malcolm Towers.
