Summary

Description (Critical) This program presents the microscopic anatomy of the eye, including the cornea, lens, iris, retina, and layers of the eyelid. The omission of two important features of the eye -- the fovea centralis and the optic disc and nerve-- significantly detract from the educational quality of the tape. Excellent commentary provides orientation and continuity to the presentation. The use of a split screen to display diagrams of an area and the actual eye simultaneously is an effective teaching technique. Despite the omissions, this presentation is recommended as a means to learn and review the histology of the eye. Credits: A. L. Chapman, Kuen-Shan Hung.
