Summary
| Description | (Critical) This program presents the microscopic anatomy of the eye, including the cornea, lens, iris, retina, and layers of the eyelid. The omission of two important features of the eye -- the fovea centralis and the optic disc and nerve-- significantly detract from the educational quality of the tape. Excellent commentary provides orientation and continuity to the presentation. The use of a split screen to display diagrams of an area and the actual eye simultaneously is an effective teaching technique. Despite the omissions, this presentation is recommended as a means to learn and review the histology of the eye. Credits: A. L. Chapman, Kuen-Shan Hung. |
