Summary
| Description | This filmstrip, part of a series on mental health, is on hallucinations, false sensory perceptions for which external stimuli do not exist. These can be sounds, visions, or other perceptions that may seem real or even terrifying to the person experiencing them. Emotionally disturbed individuals project these delusions into the real world. The different kinds of hallucinations are discussed, along with their causes. A case study is presented of a young man whose loneliness developed into a recurring hallucination of a love interest, causing him to lose his grip on reality. He then begins receiving treatment in which a nurse tries to get to the source of his disturbances. |
