Summary

Description (Critical) This program focuses on the symptomatology of epidermal ovarian tumors and the use of radiation and chemotherapy in treatment. A review of drugs is accompanied by a discussion of their side effects and the need to monitor patient reaction. Overlooked is the importance of staging and grading histologically. The need to examine the diaphragm for tumors and the examination of liver, pelvic, and periaortic nodes are not discussed. Overall, this is a poorly coordinated and opinionated program which cannot be recommended. The strip technique is presented as the only way to treat the entire abdomen, while no mention is made of the open sealed technique. Unnecessary, repeated showings of a pelvic exam often are unrelated to the topic. Credits: John G. Masterson ... [et al.]
