Summary
| Description | (Critical) This program demonstrates the operations of epiglottidecomy and radical neck dissection from beginning to end. These procedure are performed clearly and succinctly by two different surgeons. The first completes the radical neck dissection and the second, the epiglottidectomy. The anatomy is demonstrated by both surgeons and this makes the operation easy to follow. The objectives are clearly stated and well met and the anatomic demonstrations and surgical techniques are excellent. The quality of the cinematography is also very good. Thus, the program is highly recommended as an adjunct to the training of a surgical resident. This program, part of a series called Videosurgery, presents two surgical procedures performed on a 69-year-old male patient. First, Dr. Oliver H. Beahrs performs a radical neck dissection, narrating the procedure from beginning to end. The second surgery is an epiglottidectomy performed by Dr. Kenneth D. Devine. Credits: Oliver H. Beahrs. |
