Summary

Description This short dramatic film, made in El Salvador, addresses the problems caused by ignorance about human sexuality and by myths about how a girl can become pregnant. Two village girls travel to the capital for schooling. One is studious and careful and returns to her village to work in the health clinic. The other becomes enchanted with the city's social life, becomes pregnant before she is ready, and dies following an illegal abortion. The film is narrated from the viewpoint of the surviving girl.
