Summary

Description Credits: P. Ruben Koehler. In this 1977 program produced for WRAMC-TV, Dr. P. Ruben Koehler discusses the different types of examinations used to evaluate and diagnose obstructive jaundice. It can be difficult to differentiate between obstructive jaundice and hepatocellular jaundice, leading to extensive testing but not yielding informative results. Dr. Koehler shares his thoughts on which procedures should be focused on, starting with locating the site of obstruction and determining the cause of it. These include transhepatic cholangiography, ultrasonography, CT scanning, and others.
