Summary
| Description | This presentation demonstrates on a cadaver the amputation of a leg. In this program, an incision outlining the anterior fascial-cutaneous flap is made. The fascia is cut long to cover the muscular stump. Muscles are cut 1 1/2 inches below the osteotomy and separated from the bone. The fibula is cut two centimeters shorter than the tibia. Tibial crest is beveled and spicules of bone are cut away. The periosteum is curetted away 1 1/2 centimeters above the end of the bone. The arteries are ligated. The posterior fascial flap is imbricated to the anterior flap. The closure is made with interrupted sutures and drains. Received: (date unknown) as a donation from Petrolagar Laboratories. |
